Welcome to the West Side of Vancouver

Historic exclusive neighbourhoods

The West Side of Vancouver (often considered anything west of Main Street) is home to some of the trendiest (and priciest) neighbourhoods in BC. There is a lot to love about the area, with tons of things to see and do.

The West Side is home to beautiful beaches (Kits, Jericho, Locarno and Spanish Banks) and parks (Pacific Spirit Park, Vanier Park, Stanley Park) and golf courses.
You can also find museums, galleries and theatres, and some of Vancouver's most renowned restaurants.

An easy trip on the aquabus will take you to Granville Island to wander the public market, grab a bite and stay for a show at one of the island's performance stages.

There is plenty of shopping available, with a mixture of local boutiques and high-end retailers. The Shaughnessy/South Granville area is home to some of Vancouver's higher-end retailers and prestigious restaurants.

University of British Columbia

The University of British Columbia, as well as many private primary and secondary schools, can be found in this area.

Each neighbourhood has its own unique identity and character with different styles of homes and demographics. For the area, the more affordable homes can be found in the Oakridge neighbourhood and west side of Mount Pleasant while the Arbutus, Shaughnessy and Point Grey areas have some of the oldest and largest homes in the Lower Mainland.
